Hi, my name is Mathew. I’m 21 years old, and I’ve set myself a challenge to run a minimum of 5km every single day for 100 days straight.

I’m doing this to raise money for pancreatic cancer — a disease that has had a devastating impact on my life. Four years ago, I lost my dad after he fought incredibly hard against pancreatic cancer. Watching someone you love go through that battle changes you, and it’s something I carry with me every day.

This challenge is my way of honouring him, pushing myself both physically and mentally, and hopefully making a difference so other families don’t have to go through the same pain.

Every kilometre I run is for him, and for everyone affected by this disease.

All funds raised will go towards pancreatic cancer research, support services for patients and families, and efforts to improve early detection and treatment. Pancreatic cancer is often diagnosed too late, and more funding is crucial to change that.
